And 2 more cloths!

Like I said, I've been on a roll ;)

This is the "Ribbon Lace" cloth from the FiberTrends "Bathing Beauties" pattern by Evelyn A. Clark, knit in Caitlin Cotton (a discontinued and lamented sport weight cotton). I modified the pattern, adding two more repeats width-wise, and six more lengthwise. I think I got it just a tad too long, but many of the cloths I've done from this pattern have seemed a little short. So...

This is "Theresa's Pattern" from Mary Walker Phillips' Knitting Counterpanes. I saw one of these years ago on the web, called "Laurie's Lace Square," knit by Laurie Longinotti, and I've been meaning to make one ever since. Finally got it done! ;)

Two days in a row!

I've been on a roll with knitting facecloths lately. I get like this from time to time.

Here's today's (better) photo:

This was knit from Lily's Sugar 'n Cream sport weight yarn in "velvet print." I *love* this yarn, but I'm now having trouble finding it (just the sport weight). For years it's been available from both Herschnner's and Mary Maxim, but now both companies have only the worsted weight yarn. Which is useful, but not as delicate as the sport weight yarn. Aargh!

This is the feather and fan cloth from Fibertrends "Bathing Beauties" pattern. Like all FiberTrends'patterns, it's well-written and thought out, and a neat design to boot! I've been having lots of fun knitting it up in different yarns and playing with the stitch counts. This was my first version of the feather and fan cloth. I've knit several of the leaf lace and ribbon lace versions. Maybe I'll photograph those too ;).

A pitiful little entry

I've been promising myself to get back into my blogging. And tonight I was all ready to tell you about a lace cloth that I knit for the cloth exchange on the knitted lace list.

And then I went to prepare the scan of the cloth that I made last week for posting here. And I only managed to scan a little corner of the cloth!

I wasn't paying much attention to my scanning, was I? Oops! And I've already sent the cloth off to its recipient, so I can't get a complete picture. I guess you just have to live with a tease!

I can tell you it's the Square Medallion Facecloth from Catherine Knits. They have several neat cloth kits, and I've had this one for several years now. Finally got around to knitting it, although I didn't use the yarn from the kit. It was a fun pattern. This cloth was knit in Crystal Palace's "Georgia." I have a cone of this color, and it's nice yarn.

I'll try and post a better entry soon, but posting at all is progress, right? ;)
